Sometime in 2004 I found myself captivated by the internet. After spending some time coding HTML pages and putting them together, I began manually uploading content to sahaskatta.com. I soon caught wind of the Blogging trend, so I launched Skatter Tech. Playing with gadgets was one of my hobbies, reviewing them is now my job. Skatter Tech has been fortunate to see an impressive amount of growth and hopefully that trend is here to stay. Setting web life aside, I’m now an undergraduate student at the University Of California Davis majoring in Computer Engineering. I’ve also spent a few months time working at TiVo, the makers of the popular TV set box DVR. More recently, I spent a few months at Six Apart, the makers of TypePad, Movable Type, and the platform behind BarackObama.com. Since I was a child, I’ve been captivated and always wanted to learn more about current and emerging technologies. At the moment, I’m an undergraduate student at the University of California Davis majoring in Computer Engineering. I have been working at Skatter Tech since the early days and have seen the site grow immensely during that time. I’m a student at UC Berkeley working toward a degree in Operations Research and Management Science. I grew up in a house filled with tech gadgets, I can’t remember a time without having a computer near me. I am proud to be part of this generation defined by the internet culture and social networking. Since I was in grade school, I would love to download, install, and test various Linux distributions. I was and still am amazed by how much free software can do. As a result I love to learn about the workings of advertising and open source business models. Unlike older and traditional corporations, many start up companies have turned to using these models and have been truly successful. Aside from my technology and business interests, I am a very outdoorsy guy who likes to run, bike, swim, and especially ski.

Andrew Fong Writer

I’m currently an electrical engineering student at the University of California Davis. Although he is an EE major Andrew is contemplating going into law school after his undergrad and working with technical patents. He enjoys exploring the inner mechanical and electrical components of various devices as well as tuning them for better performance. Some various hobbies of his include cars, airsoft, baseball, and technology. Andrew believes even the worst food can taste decent, with the aid of Bull’s-Eye BBQ sauce.

Currently attending UC Davis with the focus of obtaining a degree in Chemical Engineering, I am interested in the line where Science and Engineering meets. I believe technology is an outlet for creativity and innovation, reflecting on the advancements and aesthetic appreciation each generation has. I’ve got a big appreciation for the technology used in entertainment today, and love seeing the world around me become more and more like a good Science Fiction movie. I’m a laid back individual who enjoys going out with friends, or kicking back with a good video game and a bad movie.

Akshay Aanabathula Writer

When I first started college, I was trying to do everything. I was a Pre-Med/Dental student majoring in Chemistry and Economics. Later, I changed my major to Electrical Engineering, which I stuck with for a while. I recently have discovered what my career passions are: Technology, Law Enforcement, and Security. Ideally, if I could become the next Robo-Cop, that would be amazing. But alas, reality dictates that it isn’t possible… yet. Aside from graduating with a degree in Criminal Psychology, I plan to become a police officer. In addition, I have plans on obtaining a JD, MBA, and PhD. Currently, aside from trying to get more involved in Skatter Tech, I work as an intern for the Sacramento Police Department. My hobbies include watching awesome movies and funny television shows, listening to great music, paint-balling, snowboarding, and playing some good video games.

The internet is like a second home to me. When I am not pondering the mysteries of life I come to seek refuge in this vast world of unbelievable and often times unpredictable cluster of information, communication and of course, memes. Also, when I am not crying over the hardships (it helps at times) of being a Bio Sci major at UC Davis, I savor reading up on gadgets and drooling over the most promising ones. Now that I’m a writer for Skatter Tech, I can live my dream-dream job of reviewing the latest and greatest technology. In my spare time I like to immerse myself in relevant culture, alt humor, music and film. I am a 3rd year undergrad at UC Davis majoring in Electrical Engineering. I am originally from Aptos which a few miles south of Santa Cruz. I enjoy music, guitar, soccer, watching college football, soul food and chilling at the beach. Beyond that I have interests in physical electronics, electronic circuits as well as metaphysics. I believe EE is the art of applying a few simple electrical physics principles to solve problems and create things that are cool and useful.
