Zombrex Dead Rising Sun Hits Xbox LIVE +

Nothing screams Summer like a Zombie B-film and Capcom! Well, I’m sure plenty of other things come to mind while you’re enjoying the weather and hopefully a little time off, but Keiji Inafune is still working hard to give gamers the full experience with his upcoming title, Dead Rising 2. One of many promotion campaigns espoused at Comic-Con ’10 by Keiji was the production of a film based in the Dead Rising universe called Zombrex Dead Rising Sun. This is a free movie that is being released in episodes to the public over the next month. However, for those of you who have an Xbox LIVE membership, the first three episodes have just been released a few weeks early completely free. Read More

Comic-Con 2010: The Big Bang Theory Interviews 7

This past week Skatter Tech dove right into the chaos that is Comic-Con, and this year’s was by far the craziest yet. The San Diego Convention Center was home to some of the biggest, brightest names in Hollywood, ranging from daytime cable to the silver screen. It’s been three years since one of my all time favorite TV shows, “The Big Bang Theory,” premiered on CBS. The witty, geeky humor was created by the minds of Chuck Lorre (creator of “Two and a Half Men”) and Bill Prady, and continues on to its fourth season with the help of creative writers Steve Molaro and Lee Aronsohn.

Comic-Con 2010: Interview with Motohide Eshiro +

Skatter Tech was able to obtain an exclusive interview with Capcom Producer, Motohide Eshiro. For those of you that aren’t familiar with the name, Eshiro is the one of the brilliant minds behind designing the new Okamiden title along with other Capcom favorites such as Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny. There had been a lot of exciting progress with the Okamiden demo at this year’s E3, and I was able to ask a few unanswered questions regarding the Nintendo DS title and all the high expectations behind it. Amazon has appreciated the many milestones in company sales that the Kindle and Kindle books alike have achieved, and it hopes to continue profiting from its latest successful franchise. As some may know, Amazon has recently reaffirmed its stance in this market with an immense price drop for the Kindle down to the current $189 tag. This move seems to have paid off, because Amazon announced today that the wide selection of Kindle books have now surpassed the company’s hardcover books sales in the United States. Read More

3D Entertainment > Depth Perception 1

You’d have had to have been living in a cave for the past year to not notice how the world of entertainment  has adopted 3D technologies in just about every conceivable way possible. Almost anything you can watch or play has now entered the third dimension, whether it’s thanks to Panasonic’s full HD 3D TV line up, the newest 3D flick hitting theaters, Nintendo announcing the 3DS as the first 3D gaming handheld, or gaming giants like Sony promising that all the big titles will be released in high-definition 3D. While entering a future of virtual reality couldn’t be more exciting, this generation may be treading in dangerous water. The youngest of us may have to pay the toll for growing up in a household surrounded by 3D entertainment, and at the cost of their vision. Read More

PlayStation Plus 2

During Sony’s press conference last week at E3, one of the biggest announcements for PlayStation 3 owners was the addition of PlayStation Plus to the PS Network. While Sony tried to make the addition of the PlayStation Plus sound as exciting as they could, details were unclear on just what online features this costly upgrade would provide. Since the current PSN already offers online multiplayer and access to DLC, the big question is what will an additional $50 a year for Plus get you?

Capcom Confirms Popular Titles for Nintendo 3DS +

During our week at E3 2010, Nintendo’s wild card was undeniably the confirmation of the 3DS. It is going to be the next handheld in line following the original Nintendo DS and DSi hardwares. The two features that are going to put the 3DS down in gaming history is its capability for the non-goggle 3D screen and a graphics engine that dominates that of the Wii, an entire console. Near the end of Nintendo’s Press conference, a long list of 3rd party producers was projected along with several 3DS titles. This revealed that several titles from the Xbox 360 and PS3 alike were getting ports for the Nintendo 3DS. Capcom was one of these videogame giants on the list, and they have just confirmed two games that will be making their way to the 3DS in their full glory. Read More

E3 2010: Okamiden +

The Capcom booth was quite the popular spectacle at this year’s E3, as gamers and media alike swarmed to get their hands on some of the most hyped titles arriving in the next year. Skatter Tech already reported on our experience with the most recent version of Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and now it’s time to reveal one of the more hidden gems of the Capcom line-up: Okamiden on the Nintendo DS. I was so excited about this demo that I made sure to check it out twice, first at Nintendo’s booth and then again at the previously mentioned Capcom booth. The great minds at Clover Studio behind Okamiden are just a few months away from a Japanese release this fall, and this demo shows just how close Chibiterasu is to taking her adorable, tiny steps into the celestial light of her predecessor. E3 2010: Sonic Colors 3

It was a tense moment on the E3 exhibition floor when Sonic fans made their way towards Sega’s booth to get their hands on the speed demon’s latest adventure on the Wii in Sonic Colors. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who expected another disappointment, since the past handful of titles have taken the blue hedgehog places he doesn’t belong. Whether Sonic has had an obsession with swords, fire, or was just in need of a good diet, his 3D adventures took him away from his high-speed roots. I can now breathe a sigh of relief after playing Sonic Colors and experiencing the exciting, vibrant mechanics behind the latest installment first hand. Skatter Tech was one of the first to bring you the announcement behind Sonic Colors’ release for later this year, and after our time at E3 2010, I’m able to eagerly report on the promising gameplay behind the sequel.
