It is so true! I have had no problems with mine. It works every time I turn it on. Youtube works every time, the document apps work every time, matter of fact, the only thing I have had any issues with is the rare instance when my browser shut down. Amazingly, when I tap on the browser app, it reopens and I can continue what I was doing. Imagine that! I have more issues with my desktop computer than I ever have had with my Tab or my Fascinate. Keep up the good work Samsung. You have Apple sweating, and rightfully so. They are just filing lawsuits to try and slow you down because they know their products are by far inferior.

Whoever you are, I love you for this comment! I use only one of the memo apps, yes I hit the screen shot every once in a while, the clock app is outstanding, the icons are great the way they are (jeeze, they're freakin' icons for Gods sake). Interesting. I just returned my Tab 10.1, I had so many problems with it I just gave up entirely.I figured since the Android platform was supposed to be so integrated with Google, the Tab would be perfect to get work done, since as a contractor I've been using gmail-hosted email addresses and google docs a lot. Unfortunately, the device has a hard time with Gmail-hosted domains, and I had a hell of a time just installing my other email addresses. And of course, though I had set multiple "email" windows/bubbles to my different addresses, they'd all automatically revert to "combined inbox view". ugh.I also had a hell of a time getting the videos I took (at a conference) off of it, as the YouTube app kept messing up. Hours on the phone with tech support later, I installed a plugin on my Macbook that allowed me to transfer the files from the Tab.I would've used the browser to upload the videos, but it shut down on me so often I didn't want to trust it. I found a bunch of video formats wouldn't work on it, as well. And the "docs to go" software is not that great. I'm a collaborative worker and 'tracked changes' in Word is a pretty important function to have missing. Not to mention that trying to open a PDF led to a message saying I should buy the whole software in order to do that. Come on, even my blackberry opens PDFs without a problem! I had to use the eBook app, which is great for reading, but even the highlighter would mess up regularly. I'd have to highlight a sentence 3-4 times before the highlight would register. So frustrating!Oh, and the other day, it just wouldn't turn on. I had to call tech support again and hold down both the power and the volume buttons together for 1 minute (holding the power button alone didn't do it). It's buggy and glitchy and doesn't do what I need it to do. All in all, not my cup of tea. Pity, because it was nice and light and the screen resolution and reading on it were great.

Just found this article. I used the ebook feature to download a book but there is no immediate way to get to a site where young kids books are available. The other thing I noticed is that some videos that I downloaded from my PC seem to disappear after a day or so. I do like the voice activation search. It has good audio recognition and works well. If Google and Samsung can not manage to convince early adopters (and developers) to like their device, it is not a good sign when it comes to convincing regular adopters. I did get this tablet for free from Google I/O, but keep in mind that every attendee -- with the exception of media personnel -- paid a hefty fee to attend the conference. Also, I have no reason to be dishonest or provide invalid arguments. If I were to glorify this tablet, many would try to discredit my article by claiming I have a bias since I got this for free. And in this case, I am getting the other side of the argument. And in regards to downgrading or flashing the tablet with new ROMs. It is clear that you are quite savvy when it comes to these things. I have also dealt with rooting phones, installing Cyanogen, etc. It's not hard. But with that being said, this article is for the masses. Not everyone is quite as technologically adept as us. The purpose is to focus on the concerns I think the average buyer of this tablet will face.

Bob –
I don’t think a pre-release tablet should have “expected problems.” It was running a stable version of Android Honeycomb when I picked it up. Second if you didnt want touch wiz you shouldn't have gotten it there was plenty of warning as to what the update was to include. Lastly even if you wanted to simply try out touch wiz, it is extremely easy to downgrade back to the stock honeycomb and anyone buying an android tablet and not a toy such as the ipad would have the common knowledge on how to do so. This article is a complete FAIL!!!! all your arguments as to why someone should not get this tablet are obsolete.

This article is dumb, first off yea u had to get replacements but that was on a pre release google I/O tablet that was expected to have problems, plus those who got it free should have little to complain about. I am using this instead of my laptop when I travel because it is much easier to travel with, and most of the places I go are now wireless with wireless printers so I do not have much trouble using it for companies that do business that still do paper. So far my problem was finding a good protective case for the device.Overall I find this product very useful, I have a minimum of apps and am not into games or other bloatware. I have an Ipad that is 32gb and for the price and productivity I would rather buy another one of these units. As an electrical engineer, I was not looking for a I pad replacement, was lookink for a highly functional lightweight computing device that was lighter than my current laptop and was and would be less expensive. This device fits the ticket and it has small learning curb. As they (Samsung ) build more they will get it right. I like this product.

I just bought a Samsung Galaxy 10.1,and I did have some difficulty getting it to turn on,which after I did a reset proved not to be much of a problem.
