The Beatles: High Resolution Album Art 69

The Beatles RemasteredExactly a week ago, on 09.09.09, the entire original Beatles catalogue was re-released in a new digitally remastered format. True fans might be willing to spend $180 to buy The Beatles Stereo Box Set, but I’ve got a treat for everyone else. I obviously can’t the music without a hefty lawsuit, but can share the high resolution Album Artwork that I received in the Official Beatles Press Kit. If you are listening to your favorite Beatles tracks on an iPod, Zune, or other media device; throw in the official artwork to brighten things up! (Apple iTunes and Windows Media Player will allow embedding the artwork into your music.)

Corey says:

hey would you happen to have the magical mystery tour and the two covers for the past masters albums thanks alot

Sahas Katta says:

Yes I Do :) I’ll put those up in 12 hours or so, I don’t have access to them at the moment!

Craig says:

Sorry to hassle you but as Corey’s asked, have you managed to get hold of Magical Mystery Tour and the Past Masters Cover (there’s just one for the remasters)? :)

Sahas Katta says:

Hey Corey and Craig,
I’ve added them to the original zip file, so just re-download it.
Both Magical Mystery Tour and Past Masters are included!

Enjoy!

Craig says:

Cheers Sahas!! – nice one. Been looking for the new remastered artwork!

You don’t possibly have the Mono remasters artwork as well do you??? :)

Sahas Katta says:

YES, I DO! Just updated the ZIP file, just download it again and it should have the Album Art for “The Beatles in Mono”! Enjoy.

And, looking back I should have just thrown everything I got in the Press Kit into that ZIP. This is the third time I’ve updated this! :(

The only thing I’ve got left is 4 whopping 70MB, yes SEVENTY MB, images of each member

Josh says:

Can you upload the “drew new beatles logo.tiff” again it appears to be a broken file. Please can someone help, It won’t extract :(

Sahas Katta says:

It won’t extract because it’s already extracted. A .tiff file is an image format just like a .jpg, .png, or .gif. Just open it with your image viewer.

Corey says:

thank you so much i cant thank you enough

John Connor says:

These look great with all my Beatles Music in iTunes!. I am so glad I found you, and your site!

Thanks Again!

Brock says:

Thank you so much I’ve been searching forever! They used to have the original album artwork on their website but they changed it recently. Thanks again!

Sahas Katta says:

yup, that’s exactly why I uploaded it. Plus the images on the old website were also compressed and lower quality. These images are enormous! I personally don’t like the little strip on the side of each cover, but I didn’t bother cropping those out. But that shouldn’t be too difficult to do if you want a perfectly square image!

Christian Liberty says:

Yo mate, thanks very much for this.
I’ve been ’standing in an English garden waiting for the sun’. This is surely one of the English rain!

Christian Liberty says:

By the way, would you please also kindly upload the back cover? I mean the ones with the tracklist on it.. Would be really really great if you do.
Thanks in advance, mate!

Sahas Katta says:

Unfortunately, I do not have those.
These were all that was provided by the Apple Corps Press Kit. Sorry!

Christian Liberty says:

Ok. Still, I thank you mate.
Have a nice day.

David K says:

Thanks so much! I’ve been looking for the rematers artwork forever? How exactly did you get ahold of this? Is everything they sent you in the kit availible for download? I’ve been looking for the “mono masters” cover- the past masters album in the mono boxed set but I guess the beatles in mono cover will do for now, unless you have that too.

pho says:

did you have the mono covers as well? looking for those :)

Sahas Katta says:

Sorry, I’ve uploaded pretty much everything. The only things I’ve got left include images of the remastered packaging, the band’s official logo, and single shots of each member. And those are all available by searching the web anyways.

David K says:

Would it be possible to upload those in a separate packages? I’ve yet to find hi-res versions of those images. I’d really appreciate it if you did.

Sahas Katta says:

Which images do you want?

David K says:

Would it be possible to upload another zip bundle with the rest of the images you have? I’d really like the high-res images of the packaging and the individual beatles members.

Sahas Katta says:

I would upload them to our server, but the file is 175MB! yikes! The servers would probably crap out and sys admin would be pulling his hair out. I’ve uploaded it to MediaFire. Don’t know how long that will stay up. If you have a better hosting solution, feel free to let me know!

http://www.mediafire.com/?iqtwm2zjyru

David K says:

Definitely understandable. Thank you so much for these. I really appreciate it.

Izzy says:

Thank You for these…..

Izzy says:

As David requestd…

Please, please upload… the quality is awesome on the others.

Hank says:

thanks a lot man… 2 questions
1.- why is the “The Beatles” text in the white album diagonal and not straight?
2.- Is the cover for the Past Masters mono version different from the stereo version?

amazing pics btw :)

Sahas Katta says:

1) Actually that is how I got them, I guess they thought it was cool?
2) I don’t know because I do not have the other ones.

Dee says:

I’m guessing “The Beatles” is not straight because it was not straight in original album cover (waay back when, in the sixties). In fact, if you were lucky enough to get the earliest releases, it didn’t even have the colored type: “The Beatles” was EMBOSSED on the cover.

Simon says:

I love you man. Thanks so much for this!

Joan Garrity says:

I downloaded the zip file onto my desktop, but I don’t know how to get iTunes to access the covers. I tried copying the jpgs into My Documents\My Music\iTunes\Album Artwork but it still won’t access it. Help!!
thanks so much!

Sahas Katta says:

That’s why I included a link to getting Album Art to appear in iTunes in the article! :) http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iTunesWin/8.0/en/15338.html

Josh says:

I get this when I try to open or extract it from the zip file you uploaded.
CRC failed in ‘assets\Logos\drew new beatles logo.tif’. File is broken

any help?

Sahas Katta says:

Josh, this is the third comment you’ve posted. The Moderator already removed one duplicates. I’ve replied to your comment with the solution already. Please either subscribe for notifications or look around before posting the same question over. Thanks!

Clark says:

Thank you so much for your downloads. I appreciate your generosity!

Dustin says:

“The Beatles” is slanted on the White Album artwork because that’s how it was orignially released. Only the 1987 CDs have it straightened

Chris says:

You may have answered Josh, but the file is still broken. “drew new beatles logo.tif” will not extract from the zipfile you graciously provided. We can’t view it until we extract it from the zipfile.

Thanks VERY much for sharing these images with us!!

Sahas Katta says:

If it works once you extract the ZIP file, what’s the problem? :)
That’s exactly how ZIP files are meant to work, you extract them!

Let me know if there’s something else wrong!

Chris says:

That’s the problem Sahas, we haven’t extracted it from the zipfile, and so we can’t tell if it works or not. The file (drew new beatles logo.tif) gives a CRC checksum error when you try to extract it from the zipfile. If you download your own file and try to extract this file, you’ll see what we mean.

This usually means that something went wrong when the zipfile was made. An error like this with just one file usually doesn’t affect the rest of the files, which can (and do) extract normally.

The only way to fix this type of error is to re-zip the files to a new zipfile, but we really only need that one file (drew new beatles logo.tif).

Sahas Katta says:

So you are referring to the ZIP posted in the comments right? Not the original in the article. Right?

I tested the original file and it works perfectly fine. I also just downloaded and tried the other one. It’s not even downloading for me at the moment. I don’t know if that file hosting service is reliable. As I had mentioned before, I would host it here, but it’s just too large.

Sahas Katta says:

Okay you were correct, something was wrong!

Here’s another link to download it!

Enjoy: [Dead Link Removed]

Chris says:

I really appreciate the new link. I’m very curious to see the “drew new logo”.

Unfortunately, that link doesn’t seem to lead to a file download, just the Filedropper homepage.

Thanks!

Sahas Katta says:

hmm, try this one: [Dead Link Removed]

John R says:

First of all, thanks very much for providing these great images. The link for [Dead Link Removed] goes to the fildropper home page instead of to the download. Any thoughts? Thanks for your help.

kzoo says:

Thanks for making an easy way to get all the album art for my beatles box set. You Rock!

MJ says:

Awesome – thanks heaps!

Jason says:

Thank you SO MUCH! What a pain it would have been to scan everything. THANK YOU!

Marc says:

Is it possible to upload the art that contains the track listings, this would work great for the slim jewel cases. Thanks for posting the fronts!

JPRG says:

Thanks!

K.C. says:

Thanks a million now my life is complete!

dr1ve0n says:

oh man thank you so much! this is great. just got the albums for christmas. these artworks are perfect!

DMK says:

Many thanks, it just completes the whole iTunes / iPod look, a real service to Beatles fans…….

Hey, I don’t understand something. Why doesn’t the album art import automatically when I import the tunes into iTunes from my purchased CDs? I thought that was a standard for any decent CD. What am I missing here? And thanks sooooooooooooooo much for your art files. WOW, it adds so much to the visceral experience of bringing back my youth. I grew up with these guys!

David says:

Thanks very much! That’s saved a few hours trawling Google Image Search.

Mike Miller says:

Thank you for the art!
I’m trying to locate hi res versions of the color photos of the individual members that were included with the White Album…

Jon Pwu says:

Haha, Sahas, you’re a lifesaver! I just got this today and was totally disappointed that there wasn’t album artwork. Was happily surprised to see it on yours! Thanks!

Rick says:

Do you have artwork of the back cover design.

Mick says:

Thanks so much Sahas – I was not looking forward to scouring the web for a consistent set of album cover images to use with the USB flacs on my media server – and these ones are better quality than I could have hoped for!

Julian says:

Thank you so much!!

Bill Arvanites says:

do these cds sound that much different then the orignal cd i am an avid beatle fan ( saw them at shea stadium ) i just wondered if there is that much of a difference

Aaron says:

Wow…truly awesome. I am ripping my boxed set to iTunes and am really excited to have the art that matches! Thanks SO much.

Sandy says:

Absolutely awesome. Thank you!

memmilou says:

Sahas – you REALLY do rock! I hate the fact that Apple, Inc.(US) cannot (or will not) make arrangements with Apple Corps Ltd.(UK) to provide the music AND the artwork through iTunes. Anyone with sense knows that they are two different entities. Music libraries are not complete without some great Beatles tunes. THANKS SO MUCH… (and folks, lets not work Sahas to death — how about we read all of the posts to determine if we can answer our question(s) without more input from Sahas.) This is a really nice find!

Michele says:

These high-res images are exactly what I was searching for, for an upcoming birthday invitation I’m creating! Thank you SO much!!!

Wario says:

DUUUDE, you are the shit. Thanks for this.

BJB says:

I’ve been working with Robert Freeman for the past few months on his memoir – ONE LIFE. Having seen some of his work in it’s original form, I can offer the following: some of the scans look crude compared to the original artwork. The colors and contrast are so apart from the original images, most notable in ‘With The Beatles’. That said, it’s great to see them all together … so much meaning in so few pixels!

‘For The Record’ is a chapter title from Robert Freeman’s book “The Beatles – A Private View” – check it out if anyone wants more detail about the four covers he designed and photographed. If you are a collector and want gallery-quality framed and signed prints, you can contact him directly via his website – robertfreeman.net
