LG VX9100 enV2 – Verizon Wireless 196
Last week Verizon Wireless announced the true successor to the popular LG enV (VX9900), the LG enV2 (VX9100). I was wrong to have previously concluded that the LG Voyager (VX10000) was the replacement. The Voyager seems to have been a “premium” version of the enV meant to take on iPhone sales, while the compact and affordable enV2 remains in the same class as the original. When the VX9900 originally was released it was quite a robust and powerful phone featuring the latest technologies, however the enV2 doesn’t seem to have any revolutionary features. The phone seems to be merely a simple upgrade to its predecessor with a new user interface, a compact body, a better build quality, and other minor improvements. There’s plenty of good and some bad, so lets get started.

LG enV2 Body: 4/5 stars
The enV (VX9900) was a more compact version of the LG V (VX9800) and now the enV2 is even smaller. The phone is quite small and can fit in just about any pocket. It’s a bit heavier than I had imagined (4.23 oz), but it’s still lighter than the enV. The enV2 is a whole lot shorter and thinner than the enV, however it is slightly wider. Both the front and back are pretty flat and all edges are smooth and rounded. It’s a pretty good looking phone and is easy to handle as well. On the front you’ll find a tiny display at the top and improved numeric keypad right below. The backside of the phone has the removable battery and the 2.0 megapixel camera. The right side of the phone has the 2.5mm headphone jack and microSD card reader/writer while the left side has the volume toggle keys and the camera button. As for the inside of the phone, the top portion features the 2.4-inch display with stereo speakers on the sides and the bottom portion has the QWERTY keyboard. And finally a micro-USB port can be found on the bottom under a socket cover for charging and data transfer. The only thing that I found disappointing was the extremely small screen on the front which has been rendered almost entirely useless. I feel that there would have been more to gain by making the keypad a bit smaller and by adding a larger screen.
The Screen(s): 4/5 stars
In terms of brightness and colors, both the internal and external displays are top notch. The internal screen is much bigger and brighter than the one on the enV. It looked quite good especially when I was able to view images I had taken in a full screen mode, which the enV didn’t allow. Watching videos on the internal display was quite decent as well. The external screen is now a rectangular strip which doesn’t offer enough room to perform most tasks. The external display on enV was more of a square and it’s menu system was quite fulfilling. Both screens were bright enough to be visible in direct sunlight.
User Interface: 4/5 stars
After messing with the internal interface of the phone I’ve got to say there’s a lot of improvements. Everything was quick and easy to learn and use. The interface will be quite familiar for previous enV owners. The phone also offers a layouts for messaging or multimedia, in case you plan on using one or the other more. I personally opted for the standard menu interface. Some of the stylish curves seems to have eaten up some screen estate which could have been used for displaying more information, however it wasn’t a problem. Overall the internal interface has been improved and works smoothly. The main fall back of the phone would have to be the external interface which I feel is a disaster. First off to get into the interface you’ll have to unlock the keyguard using the OK button. Next since there are no true soft keys, the up and down buttons launch the your contacts and message, respectively. The clear key which is usually centered on most phones has been placed at the top right which was quite awkward to use. The top left button is now the ‘Music’ button which should have just been one of the two customizable soft keys. The contacts list can only display two contacts at a time, however you’ll survive since it has a search function. The phone allows sending a text messages from the tiny front display, however the interface is confusing and slow. Even viewing ‘recent calls’ was quite tedious. If LG had offered a larger display and Verizon had built a better interface this would have had potential.
Media Playback: 4.5/5 stars
The interface for playing back music on the enV2 is pretty much the same as what it was on the enV. There doesn’t seem to be too many changes. I do however feel that it is about time that the player got a new look. Despite that caveat, the has and continues to player run without any problems. For those who have not used the interface on a previous phone, it allows searching or browsing by Songs, Albums, Artists, or Genres. It supports MP3, WMA, and AAC formats. It’s good news for both iTunes Plus and Amazon MP3 customers since all that content will be compatible. The V CAST Video also has been improved, streaming seems to function smoother than before and there wasn’t as much frame rate drops as there was on the enV. If you want to add your own video clips onto the phone, you can do so easily using 3rd party software and converting the content into WMV, MP4, or 3G2 formats.
MicroSD + Syncing: 5/5 stars
The LG enV2 doesn’t have too much room for storing content on it’s internal memory, however it has a microSD expansion which solves the problem. The phone now supports up to 8GB microSD cards, which should be plenty for the majority. Syncing music onto the phone is also a cinch. You can either use a micro-USB cable and sync content using a program such as Windows Media Player 11 or use a microSD card reader to copy content into the automatically created folders on the card. Even those with limited computer knowledge should be able to figure it out easily!
Speakers & Headphones: 5/5 stars
LG has once again improved the speakers on the enV2, making it better than those on the enV. I’m glad they improved on this, I was worried after I heard the speakers on the expensive LG Voyager. The speakers are clear at even full volume and manage without beginning to crackle. The sound great both for listening to music and when used as a speaker phone. If you plan to use headphones you’ll need to purchase a 2.5mm to 3.5mm converter to use with standard headphones. Listening with headphones will satisfy the average consumer, however don’t expect top notch music playback out of this phone.
Digital Camera: 4.5/5 stars
The main improvement in the digital camera on the enV2 would probably have to be the speed it takes pictures at. The enV constantly lagged and it often took forever for the camera to focus, snap, and save the image. The enV2 acts almost instantaneously. There are few disappointments with the enV2 such as the loss of the build in flash, which made a big difference for closeups taken in under-lit situations. The camera is also still a 2.0 mega pixel which was the same as what was on the enV, so no improvement there. And finally the lens cover has also been removed leaving the camera exposed. The video mode functions smoothly as well, there were no problems there. The front screen can be used to take photos and can also be used for self portraits when flipped open, however due to the small screen size, only a small strip of the full image will be visible. Overall the enV2′s camera functions as it should with some speed improvements, however the camera hasn’t been upgraded and there are no new features.
GPS VZ Navigator: 5/5 stars
I have to mention this feature, since it is one of my favorite part of Verizon Wireless phones. The VZ Naviagor, now on version 4, now includes tons of new features including traffic alerts. The interface is quick and easy to use and the phone can detect your exact location in a matter of seconds. It’s actually much more accurate than the locater on the Apple iPhone. The application will be an addition to your monthly bill unless you have a premium plan. The maps offer live turn-by-turn directions with voice overs which actually state the street names. Address can be saved into the phone. The local search can help find businesses or restaurants instantly. The program also displays the phone number of the address and can dial the number for you. And finally it can lookup movie showtimes near your location and assist in booking tickets. The new version also locates the cheapest gas in near your location.
Messaging (IM, Email, & Text): 5/5 stars
This is a great phone for those who message a lot. It’s got a built in chat client which supports AIM, MSN, and Yahoo!. The software now allows viewing your full contact lists, which was previously limited. The new Mobile Email client supports Yahoo Mail, Windows Live Hotmail, AOL/AIM Mail, and Verizon. If you use another provider, you can just enter the POP3 or IMAP servers and it should work perfectly. The Email Client also can be setup to notify you each time an email arrives in any of your inboxes. The text messaging component is vastly the same, but there are some improvements. The inbox and outbox is no longer limited to 50 messages. (In addition the phone can now hold 1000 contacts.)
Conclusion:
This is a great phone for those who love to message others wirelessly since it has a QWERTY keyboard. The phone is also a great improvement to the enV with a whole new look and a compact design. I wasn’t too fascinated by the maroon color, but I found the black version to look a whole lot better. It does lack some features such as a flash, a lens cover, and auto-focus all for the camera. It also doesn’t yet have a HTML browser. The main complaint I have would have to be the tiny external display, but if you set that aside the rest of the phone is quite impressive. The phone is also quite affordable and will be of interest to many Verizon Wireless customers looking for a new phone. The phone is now available on Verizon’s website and in Verizon Wireless stores for $130 after a $50 rebate and 2 year contract.

this phone looks UGLY!!! I don’t want it anymore. is the black one better?!?!?
I have this phone and love it. I wanted a phone that could do everything that I needed and this phone has it. I love the review and it covered everything that someone would need to know to make this purchase.
Phone has one Major problem, the keyguard sucks. All you have to do is hit the “ok” key and it unlocks then if its in your pocket, it will dial phone numbers especially from the last ones you dialed. There should be some way to set it so its a combination of keys,not just one.
You CAN set it to a combination of keys to unlock it. Start by the outside of the phone. Click OK, UP (keyguard settings) OK, then pressing 1 will take you to the timer- which is how long before keyguard turns on when you close your phone. or you can click 2 and go down and press OK on the TWO-STEP unlock. So now you will have to hit OK, CLR everytime when you want to unlock your phone. And you have to do it fast because if you hit OK and let too much time go by, it will just lock back up again.
The black looks way better than the maroon. It’s damned good for music; I’ve actually been leaving my iPod + speakers at home lately because it so loud and clear with the volume cranked up, it’s literally a tiny boombox! The front screen isn’t as bad as the review makes it out to be…it’s suboptimal (though still perfectly usable) for texts or email for sure, but the whole point of the phone is the internal screen and keyboard. The external screen is sized just fine for the clock and notifications, I think that’s all it’s really meant for – think back to the old days of clamshells when the external screen was just one line of text and some icons and you’ll get the idea. If you’re into tinkering, it’s not usable with BitPim yet, but it’s so popular I’m sure it will be soon enough.
The keyguard is weak indeed but all you have to do for a better one is go to the Security menu and set it to auto-lock, that gives you your choice of keys to press to unlock the keypad. I use 2580 so I can just run my thumb down the center column.
Stellar phone! Vastly improved over the original. Added multimedia properties second to the heavily MORE expensive iPhone – waste of money in my opinion… This phone has call clarity, beautiful rich screens and excellent video and camera capture. Absolutely no deficits!!!!
J-Rad – how do you set it to “auto-lock” – only options I see is to manually lock or have it lock at start-up. I want it to have a time-out lock so if I leave my phone sitting around nobody can access it without having to go into so many submenus to lock it. Also, is there a shortcut to lock it manually??
Env2 is the BEST phone I ever had. All the best of the env and voyager combined (returned my Voyager and Venus). This by far is a better phone..Battery is great too. Only one complaint.. same as others above.. unlocks too easily.. my friend keeps calling me and saying why do you keep calling so I can hear your conversations with someone else… I use a holster on the hip.. and you just have to lean on something and it unlocks.. other than that…. you will LOVE this phone.
The keygaurd DOES suck and here is why.
You technically need to hit “ok” twice. If you hit “ok” once, it will wait for any other key to be pressed before you hit “ok” again… meaning you could technically hit “ok” “1″ “5″ “clr” “5″ “ok” and it will unlock. What they should do is make it that if you hit “ok” “5″ then the unlock sequence is aborted. Luckily there are “software updates”. I’m going to see if I can mention this to developers.
So is there or is there not an “auto-lock” option on the enV2 to prevent accidental calls?
Yes there is an auto lock out. Press the OK button and scroll to the keyguard settings. Select 1 or two button unlock. If its not available then you have to take it in and have the phone updated. Or nam update
i have the EnV…BUT i can tell all of you keyguard lovers that if you sipmy hold “0″ it will lock the phone completley…the original unlock code SHOULD
CONT… be the last 4 digits of your number but dont take my word for it..go to security and check and/or change your password..works for me!!
K the phone sucks, but it was better than all the other options… Problems:
1) the most important one, you can’t lock the phone while you are talking on the phone, so the numbers keep pressing.
2) the key guard sucks because of all the mentioned above problems, I have had so many random dials
3) the speaker only works when the phone open.
4) unlike other phones, when you are talking on the phone you can check the time, but with this phone it’s impossible.
5) The front ear piece is not as good as my chocolate LG.
6) They could have made the buttons in the front a bit smaller and the screen a bit bigger.
No wonder its a brand new phone at Verizon and they are selling it cheaper than the other ones, so they can get rid of them.
I give this phone a 4 out of 5 for design, and a 2 for it’s functions.

Everyone who owns the Env2, please call customer support at LG to recommend a firmware update for the keyguard. I think if they are pressured enough, they will make the necessary changes. Their number is 1-800-793-8896.

IF you have this phone, PLEASE call LG directly and speak to a customer service rep. Tell them you want to fill out a “Voice of Customer” and that the keyguard is too easy to unlock. This form allows LG users to pass feedback to LG’s corporate office. Don’t bother telling Verizon, they’re worthless. LG’s number = 1-800-793-8896
Actually, since verizon is the one who wrote the software for the phone, your better off calling them, since THEY are the once who release new firmware.
If you can use this as a modem through a USB cable, do I still need a broadband card.
I’ve owned cells since 1992… been in electronics and computers for over 30 years. The LG VX-9100 is the best, smoothest handiest phone I have ever own. I have worked on Motorola equipment and this is my FIRST non-Motorola phone. I reccomend this phone to anyone who wants simple operation and low learning curve.
i got the env 2 literally last week. i love it, it’s great but mine tends to freeze and restart. it’s happened several times already and i don’t know what’s wrong with it. has anyone else have this happen to them? i’m thinking abot bringing it to verizon so they could give me another one. but other than that, it’s a really good phone =]
I recently was given the env2 for my 13th birthday.My phone before that i got for my 12th birthday was the mint chocolate that was a great phone but this phone is like a billion times better.Its very nice easy,and i have it in marron its beautiful,it can hole up to 300 text messeges in the inbox and another 300 in the sent box. It charges very fast. I have had the phone for one month and i had no trouble at all. ps the ringtones are awsome. I highly recommended this phomne

ok I HAVE a huge problemo. I TRying to decide between the glyde and the env2. i’ve heard a lot of bad stuff about the env2 but the glyde touch screen sucks like the voyager so what should i get? oh and i’m thirteen and my last phone was the sucky now free light pink rzr!
I don’t know what to pick. I really want the env2 in marroon but people say its better in black. I wish they gave more colors like a nice looking red green orange. Like the old one. i think i will pick marroon. And bye the way if anyone wants to get the voyager i give it 3 star rating the env2 is a lot nicer fresher and prettyer if you think about it. I just hope when i get the env2 the next day they come out with the env3.Please……..

I’ve had my env2 for about two months, not even, and I love this phone. But just the other day my okay button on the front screen stopped working so now I can’t use my front screen at all. Does anyone have any suggestions or ways to help me!? Please. I can’t survive two years without the front of my phone working!

I would say it is worth it. I enjoy this phone, it’s easy to use. About the keyguard situation I was in the same room as my friend when he got a phone call from me when the phone was in my pocket it was pretty funny, it did it twice. That’s the only draw back I have found.

Breana, honey if you bought the phone new it should have a one year warranty on it. But I’ve not had this phone for long, it’s not the best in the world. I hate it. You can’t type long messages on the front, like you could the old enV and the screen is too small on the front. I can barely read it. But this is what I have to deal with until my renewal, because they no longer make the enV.
I haven’t figured out how to operate the speaker phone with out having it open either. If you have the phone open and on speaker during a call and then you close it it auto goes back to the ear piece. I don’t see any way to use the speaker with the phone closed. Any tips?

ok, so i got this phone for my 14th b-day. I had the regular enV before it. This one is way way better, like the size it actually fits in my pocket and doesnt fall out when im skating. But i’ve had it for lke 3 months and without dropping it, 4,5,6,7,8,9, the ok button send button DONT WORK!
anyone know how to fix that? i mean i can get a new one. But this one has all myringtones i have sk8 on it and all my contacts

oh my gosh yesssss!!i have huge chunks missing from the silver part around the phone. my friend told me that it looks like a dalmation. but yes! it looks horrible and im so dissapointed. i have only had this phone for a month and it is more scratched and worn looking, than my old phone that i had for three years.
yeah my silver is all chunky too, and the screen on the front is all scratched. i droped it once today
That is a good reason to have a screen protector on the front and a rubber protector around the sides and back. It blends in with the black and is a fraction larger. The sice diference isn’t noticeable when in pocket- BUT is stays well protected!

This phone is such a piece of crap. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!! The keyguard is crap and it makes several random calls every day. Do yourself a favor and buy ANY PHONE BUT THIS ONE!

I know it’s the long way- BUT THIS WORKS!
Go under “settings and tools” in the menu. Then go to option 3 “phone settings”. Next option 6 “security”. Now enter your phone lock code which if you haven’t changed it is set to factory default at your last 4 digits of your phone number. Now click on option 4 which is “lock phone now”. Now as long as you don’t have any emergancy contacts saved on your phone, you will need to dial your 4 digit lock code in order to call anyone. And you don’t have to worry about hitting the ok button while in your pocket.
I realize this is the long way of doing what most phones can do in 2 steps- BUT IT WORKS. And it only takes me about 4 seconds now that i am use to it! I’m sure LG will come out with a update to make it easier to lock

ive had this phone since may and just the other day my send button and 7, 8, and 9 button stopped working!! I’m so frustrated! I cant answer my calls unless i open my phone!! They are sending me a new one.. but WHY would i want the same refurbished phone they are gonna send me when it will happen to this phone too? AND I have spent so much $$ on ringtones i dont want to lose everything! BUt i really do love this phone.. the front i love the big buttons. im a big texter so i love the keyboard!!
this phone is terrible! it doesnt work and i’ve gotten 5 new ones in 3 days!!!!!!!!!!! they break to easily! i mean i shud b able to trow it and it b fine but eb=very time i throw it i have to get a new one! =(

please do not get this phone. i thought it was amazing at first and it was, but ive had mine for 3 months and ive only dropped it twice. after a short time the keypad on the front doesnt want to work. sometimes it wont work on my 7, 8 and 9 numbers and if you have keyguard on and you try to press ok to unlock it the ok button wont work. ive talked to some of my friends who also have the env2 and they said their’s is doing the same thing. so please do not get this phone. get a different one unless you want to have problems ith your cell phone.
looking at both pros and cons of this. these reviews are excellent since i am looking for a replacement of my orange enV
is this phone really that bad? because i really want it! and my best friends have it and they love love loveeee ittt! but they have only had it for about a week… so nothing has happened yet.. and i have at&t so my parents said that they might get it for me but it would be a lot of money to switch.. and i really dont want to have my parents spend a ton of money on a sucky phone.. so i reallyyyy need to know.. is it that bad?
I advise you not to buy that phone. the first time I buy that I think that is very cool. It is very cool when you have just bought. But just after a few weeks. I meet many trouble with that. Some of the buttons that won’t work. That makes me mad. so I gave back to them and take the money back. And I bought nokia n95. It is a very cool phone which have all the function you need. But just a little expensive. So I advise you not to buy env2. I am sure that.
I’ve had the phone over two months now and it is great. The ok/lock button kinda sucks. Besides that it’s a great phone. I haven’t had any issues with any buttons. And I keed the phone in my pocket at all times. Hundreds of thousands of these are sold. You are only hearing from the people who have had problems. I don’t think you’ll be dissapointed with it.
i’m getting this phone soon for my birthday. . . i thought it would be a good choice, but after reading these comments i’m not so sure. i’ve already told my dad i wanted it and i think he might have gotten it already, so i hope it’s good or else i’ll be really upset lol.
I have had two of these phones since August, but I still really like it. I was worried about the keyguaard, but after reading some of the tips on here, I am good to go. I am, however, a little weary about something I found out today after going through the internal part to lock it: I tried to see if I could really lock it from the external part. I held the “0″ key for about 5 seconds then I tried to push buttons on the phone. The only button that worked was the “CLR/voice command” key. I actually had to open the phone to unlock it. Thank goodness everything worked properly on the external part though.
Oh, and I wanted to know if the *228 was how you get the software updates? Thanks for the great help.
i have had this phone since april. i love it.
the only problem i have is the mp3 player is locked.
now when it comes to keygard i don’t have a problem, i set my to 7 sec but if that takes too long i just hold zero and it locks.

i love the phone but i only dropped it once and it has a protector on it. However the inside screen just turned black. any suggestions i do not have the insurance on it. :(
i am not a fan of this phone. the original was better. on the front of the phone buttons 4-9 DO NOT work, neither does up or send. and also the corners of this phone the silver paint is chipping away. i bet your thinking a kid who drops his phone constantly and its scratched and doesnt work. I HAVE NOT DROPPED THIS PHONE ONCE…
That’s funny. Cause I’ve dropped mine a couple dozen times on a concrete floor at work. And not only do all of the buttons work as good as the day I bought it, but the corners have no damage- IT’S 5 MONTHS OLD TOO!
I’ve had this phone for about two months now, and I’ve dropped it about 3 or 5 times, three being on a rough tile floor in my basement. All of the buttons work, and the screen hasn’t died. No chips on the silver paint either. I’ve even dropped it on the BUS to school (which has so much dirt and sand its incredible), and it slid forward two seats, face down. the only damage is two microscopic scratches that are only visible if you hold it at an angle to the light. The other damage was to the front screen, which obtained some scratches and a nick or two. However, I kept my front screen protector on that comes on the phone, like the side strips of plastic you peel off when you first take the phone out of the box. So that’s still perfectly fine. I also use the front buttons to txt sometimes, like when I’m walking. to the bus stop or I’m multi-tasking. No button non-functionality. The only things that bugged me was the up-down nav buttons and the puny front display, as well as the OK=Unlock feature. that was just annoying. Other than that, this phone has filled up its inbox (all 300 spaces of txt messages) probably 40 times already. And I found the internal speaker audio quality to be top-notch, but still had than metallic sound that all phones do, though much less so. It was hardly noticeable. The SD-Card slot is also a fantastic quality.
All in all, I recommend this phone, as long as you don’t depend on the front screen too much.
please i really need help! i have an env2 and i really want to put music on it. i recently got a SanDisk card but have no idea what to do with it! the guy at verison just gave it to me for free and said i could download music with it and the somehow put it on my phone! please tell me how to do this!
You need to download the music from a computer onto your card 1st. Just google it for instructions- “How do I download music to a memory card?”
I have had the phone since May, with no problems except today. I have never dropped it or put it through any misuse or strain on it,(unless you count the countless times I have passed out on it after a long night of drinking) but today I pulled it off my charger and it was off. I thought nothing of it, I powered it on, I only got about 15 seconds of main screen time before it suddenly turned off. Now I bearly gets throught the start up screens before shutting off.

The camera on this “upgrade” is horrible! The reason it can take a picture so fast is because it does not focus and all of the pictures look like crap. The original was tons better.
I loved this phone until it started randomly shutting off. Its only 4 months old and it shuts down on its own 6 or 7 times a day. Very annoying. I have been reading lots of reviews from people who say the same thing. Right now its at Verizon getting a “software updgrade”. But I don’t hold high hopes for that working given the other reviews.
Despite a few things going bad on my phone recently I absolutely love this phone. I don’t know why so many people have had so many problems. I got mine in May and only now have started having problems, but I’d say minor. The front 7, 8, 9, and send don’t work most of the time. Which stinks, but at least you can still text from inside. And if someone calls just open then close your phone, it doesn’t end the call. Anyways, I’m sure this can be fixed easily but I’d suggest getting the phone. I love everything about it, and it takes great pictures. =)
I have had this phone since August and it shuts down all the time. It is very annoying as I have a cellphone so I can receive important messages. Besides that it is good but come on Verizon, seriously.

After leaving my phone for a software upgrade it started shutting off the very same night. So software is not the problem. Now Verizon gave me a new battery to see if that helps. If it keeps doing this I’m going to have to get rid of it. Its pointless to have a phone that you have to constantly check if its even on. I am in the process of buying a house and have missed numerous important calls that I didn’t know i was receiving.
I am not a person who “throws my phone around and it doesn’t work” I wouldn’t suggest getting involved with buying this phone until they work out the issues.
I have had this phone since the end of may this yr. I have only dropped it a few times and maybe a month ago the front ok button, as well as the *, 0, and # buttons stopped working. About three weeks ago, the 7,8,9 buttons and the send buttons started to “work sometimes and then not work” but now all of those buttons listed don’t work. and i like to txt on the front when i’m tired so that pissed me off. I’m going to take my enV2 that has these problems into the local verizon store soon and “refurbish” my phone. Hopefully i can barter a trade with the verizon ppl and ask them if I could switch my half-broken enV2 for the Venus. Besides, if the problems w/ the enV2 are pretty common, there’s no point to keep replacing it with the same phone so you can keep making trips to the verizon store. BTW, the Venus has more internal memory than the disappointing enV2. Anyways, just thought I would voice my opinion to everyone who wants this phone. If I were them, I would think the decision thru a little while b4 purchasing the enV2.

I too have had this phone since May of this year and just this week it stopped ringing or making any sounds completely. Its been a pleasant 7 months and I will probably replace it and get the same thing again. I love mine.

this phone is horrible. please do not get it. i have had it since may of 2008. i will be going on my 5th phone soon. out of all of the phones i have had, i dropped it once. problems include: ok button not working, texting screen freezing (happened twice) and LCD screen started to split for absolutely no reason. My relationship with this phone is a love hate one.
Having the same problems as the others…my 7, 8, 9 and SEND buttons stop working randomly…recently my OK button has stopped working as well. I love this phone but now it’s just a pain in my butt.

ya i have had 5 of thses with in a year oh having this phone they have all sufferd system problems a few i couldnt press space or use the out side screen with out it freezing up the others outside screens would be pure white and the inside would be black and i couldnt see a thing this is not worth the money it costs i regret getting it
This phone is awful. I Got in August and it already has tons of problems. Mind you i’m not rough on my phone at all (i.e. dropping it, getting water on it, leaving it in harsh environments.
First the outside buttons stopped working. 7, 8, 9 were the first to go, then 1, 2, 3, then the send, OK and end buttons.
The battery life is nothing stellar at all. Have to charge the thing every night just from basic talk time use.
The phone randomly freezes, restarts itself, or turns off completely!
The vibrate is very weak!
and things i have entered in the note pad and calendar section, randomly turn up missing.
This is by far the worst phone I have ever owned! (worse than the Razr v3 or whatever the hell that piece of shit was)
i have had this phone since nov. and it has worked perfectly for me. i have dropped it but it still works fine. if you carry it in your back pocket(i dont) of course it turns off randomly.

Ive had my EnV2 since August 19th. At first i thought the phone was godly!! But i had just gotten done with what i called the “Ghetto Brick” Now i relize problems with it and its really pissen me off. The screen is very small on the front. I cannot read the text. The messages are so short but i suppose all are. My biggest problem…Is that my phone FREEZES AND RESTARTS or JUST TURNS OFF!!! Its a shame because this phone is so nice and i really like it. Also somtimes i recieve messages late and its quite annoying. I cant wait until i can get a new phone lol.
I read through most of these comments, and i personally still like this phone.
I have had it for about a year now, and I have not had on single problem.
I use this phone constantly, and I may fill up the 300 text inbox more then once a day. (im a big texter).
As for the buttons on the outside that stoped working, That has not happened to me. They all work perfectly, like the day I first bought it.
My enV2 has not shut down on me once. I have had this phone since may, like many of you.
I personally think the reason of this phone breaking to so many people is because of how THEY treat it. Like for instance, don’t put it in your back pocket if you don’t want it to shut off, or the buttons to stop working.
If you keep it in a case, many of these problems will not occur.
If you like cases, I’d say to go with the black enV2, that way it looks better with any color case than the maroon one. –just my opinion though.
So if you are reading these reviews, and debating whether or not you are going to get this phone think about how your going to treat it.
If your going to sit on it when its in your back pocket, don’t get it.
If you are going to treat it like a princess, get it. –lol.

Im a huge fan of the keyboard phones. =] I had the original EnV for over a year. I went thru 3 only because of being on a street-bike & dropping it on the pavement at 150+ mph.
Then I upgraded to the EnV2. First one went good for 2 weeks. The OK, Send, End, 7, & 9 buttons all stopped working. They refused to ever work again. So I called Verizon Tech Support. The next day they sent out me a replacement phone. That one was worse then ever. It wouldnt even turn on.
Called Tech Support again. Received another replacement. That one was a piece of junk. It deleted all of my contacts constantly.
I finally got a little upset, stressed my problems with Tech Support. I found out that since I was still under their “30 day worry free” etc thing that I should have never got a stupid replacement, instead I should have been directed to my towns Verizon Store to receive a brand new from stock EnV2. Which is what Im using now. Its been working perfect. No problems (keep your fingers crossed)

i am on my 2nd env2.
both of my phones randomly shut off and restarted, they both would freeze up, and the OK button quit working. after getting my 2nd phone, they said “its because you dont have a memory card and you have a lot of pictures on there and texts”. so i purchased the memory card and got my 2nd phone. well,since day 1, this phone has been freezing up and shutting off. NOW the phone wont even display the internal or external screens. they are blank..either black or white..and if im lucky, the screen will come up SOMETIMES and i go to check my texts that i havent been able to read and then when i hit the buttons, my screen quadruples!! i dont throw my phone around, i dont sit on it, i dont drop it in water, nothing. the phone is a good phone when it works right, but right now, its an absolute piece of crap and im waiting for verizon to send me my new one in the mail because the store didnt have anymore because SO MANY PEOPLE WERE HAVING PROBLEMS.

I just upgraded (from the enV) to the enV2 this week. I loved my enV even though it was a little glitchy – nothing serious though. I got the enV2 so I could use it at home and take the enV on trips. I have the maroon and love it! So far, it’s just had a minor problem with a contact name, so I changed it. If this phone craps out on me over time, I’ll just go back to the enV full-time…but I really like it so far!
I haven’t had this phone for four months yet, and it freezes randomly while returning a text. Will not allow me to restart it, i have to take out the battery and start it up. It has froze more then five times at once. It happened last month as well. Should I even bother to get it replaced or have Verizon give me a phone worth having? I love the phone considering all i do is text people, but its not worth that trouble.

I’ve had this phone for almost 2 months now, and the other day, I started having problems with it “power cycling” as Verizon calls it…in other words it shuts itself on and comes right back on in the middle of typing out a text. I don’t know why it only does it when I’m using text. It seems to me that it has something to do with using the qwerty board while in text mode! This is the only problem I have had with it, but it is bad enough that I am seriously debating getting a different phone all together! I am currently awaiting a replacement in the mail from Verizon, and I am crossing my fingers that the new one works as good as it should since I fell in love with the features on this phone and would really like to keep it! If I have the same problem with the new one, I will be replacing it…not sure with what, but the new one must have a qwerty!!! :)
I think this is a very good phone. minus the outside keys problem. I’m having the same problem as a lot of people with the ok button. now my ok button is working now. but the 4, 5, 6, and the 7, 8, 9 buttons aren’t working! :( it’s a shame because I like using the outside in school because it’s easier. is it true that if I go to verizon they will give me a new one?
I bought this phone on the 2 year contract plan in oct 2008. i loved this phone until this morning. i woke up late for work and realised my phone (which i use for my alarm clock) was shut off. I took it off the charger and powered it up only to have it shut down once it got through the start up screen. I took off the battery and replaced it and it still shuts off. Even when it is plugged into the wall it does this. Im goin to verizon tonight to see whats wrong with this stupid thing but if they say to replace it.. ill not settle for a refurbished phone when this one STILL has a 1 year manufactury warranty!!!!! SOOOO pissed.. ugh:( I buy a phone thinking it is to last me a while.. especially when I have a new born and its winter out.. cmon
I just want to add to the list of comments regarding the “7-8-9″ button epidemic. I got my first enV2 in July 2008 and by the next month I was noticing some of the buttons not working until it progressively got worse and worse & ended in the 7, 8 , 9, and SEND buttons consistently not working. I brought it to the Verizon store in December and exchanged it for a new one, but now at the end of January 2009 the same problem is happening again slowly but surely. It’s very inconvenient when I’m driving and my SEND button isn’t working for example. Even though they DO exchange it if it’s under warranty, it’s still a pain in the ass to reprogram all my settings/ringtones every time.
I’ve had this phone since September, and I was so happy with it. I’m only 15 though and of course I always put it in my pocket at first. But then it started calling people in class because my pocket would unlock the phone and dial numbers. There’s not really any grip to the phone, so it is easy to drop. From dropping it, the silver coating on the outside started coming off and it looks horrible and its black instead of silver now. I was kind of disappointed that there aren’t many features on the front screen, but it’s probably because the outside buttons quit working. In about December, the OK button only worked sometimes, then the *, 0, and # keys quit working, and when one of my friends got my OK button working i unlocked the front screen so i could still kind of use it, but then the OK button quit working. Next to go were the 7, 8, 9, and SEND buttons. And sometimes when I open it the screen remains black for 30 seconds before it comes on. So even though this is the perfect “texting teenager” phone, most would just put it in their pockets. So maybe put it in a purse, or a shirt pocket. Or a safe place in your backpack.

i have the black one. and occasionally the “okay” and “send buttons dont work so then the #,0,*,7-9 dont work. then it will start to. i would not recomend people gettin this one. the calls are good and all. i hate this fone. i rather have the razor.
I’ve had this phone since August 2008 and it still works perfectly fine. The only problem I’ve been having is that ever since I added 30 more songs to my SD card, now whenever I click “My Music” the phone powers down and powers back up. But that’s the only problem, my 7, 8, & 9 buttons still work perfectly fine even though it’s in my jean pocket all day at school.
If it’s slow for some people, it’s most likely because you have too much memory full. That’s why it’s best to get a microSD card. My phone has been much faster after I got one :)
Also, for the people who say that the battery dies very quickly, it’s actually not the phone’s fault. It is best to charge your phone once it is fully dead. Charging it while it’s still somewhat full wears out the battery and doesn’t make it last as long.
I don’t really see why people are complaining about the small screen in the front? I mean, shouldn’t you have expected the small screen in the front to not do many things when you first bought it?
Haha funny how my phone still works pretty much fine even though I have to admit I don’t take very good care of it; I keep it in my jean pocket all day, which is a tight space, and constantly swing it around (I have those phone keychains attached).
Oh wait, I DO have another problem with it (I’ve had this problem ever since I first got the phone). Whenever I save a note in the notepad section, it always deletes itself. But this problem has been solved, I just send myself a text message of what I wanted to put in the notepad.
i think i may have figured out the notepad issue. the problem of notes deleting themselves out of nowhere didn’t start for me until i set the notepad as my qwerty shortcut. as soon as i turned off the shortcut and starting going to the notepad the long way again the notes stopped self deleting.
I got this phone a little over a month ago and love it compared to my other phone (lg chocolate, i had 5). I had heard of problems with this phone but I got it anyways. Then today it won’t charge. I tried every oulet in my room, with both mine and my sister’s chargers. My sister also has this phone and got it on the same day. Her internal screen broke today as well. I don’t want to go through this with another phone. I am considering getting the Dare, anything wrong with that one?

I have had similar problems with my ENV2. I an currently on my 3rd one because the front numbers would stop working. And my new problem is that while taking it out of the charger the other night the internal screen shat out on me. I can’t see or do anything. I may have to do what KAT below your said and just keep replacing it until my 2 years are up since mine will only be a year old in February or March. :/
I had the enV. Then it broke, and Verizon upgraded me to an enV2. I love the phone. I like the small screen on the front, because it makes the buttons bigger. However, I’m on my second one. The first one I had, the “OK” button stopped working. So they replaced it for me. That was two days after thanksgiving. My second one, has just now quit working. The 7,8,and 9 buttons randomly quit working. As well as the send button. I don’t want a refurbished phone, but I can’t upgrade for two more years. So I’ll keep switching them out until they give me a different phone, just like I did when i had the enV.
omg i am so ticked! My ENV2 has within the past 10 minutes stopped allowing messages 2 send. Also, what do those internal stickers look like if they get wet?
Here is a tip to prevent butt dialing.
With the phone closed, press OK. Press OK again to unlock.
Press OK to go to menus.
Scroll down to #6 – Keyguard Settings.
Scroll down to #2 – Unlock Options
Choose “Two Step Unlock” radio button.
This will force you to press OK, then CLR to unlock. Much less butt dialing.

I like this phone a lot, but a few months ago I was having trouble with the front display buttons, theokay, the send and end and the arrows…making it very difficult to make phone calls! Then the numbers stopped working. Verizon replaced it because it was under warrantee. Now I’ve had my new phone for 2 months and just last week the ok button stopped working again! I am considering getting another phone since this seems to be a major glitch.
Anybody have trouble with the charging port? Ours keeps coming loose.

I’ve had the Env2 for about three months now and so far it’s been a great phone, but since recently it’s been having dificulties, on the front screen you have to hit “ok” well on mine which has yet to be dropped the “ok” stopped working meaning i have no access to the front of the phone.
I had the EnV and gave it to my sister and bought the EnV2 for my upgrade. I loved it at first but then the buttons on the front started freezing…so I called Verizon and they sent me a new one. To my surprise…this phone was even worse and the OK button and Clear button NEVER work…I’m soo upset and really think that LG needs to check why this is happening. You guys need to come out with better phones!!!!
The evn2 sucks! At first when i had this phone i loved it, now none of my front buttons work..i have had 2 and am prolly going to get another one..i am thinking about getting upgraded to a Blackberry Curve(any problems?) All my friends are getting this phone but I recomend you dont get this phone unless you want problems..One of my friends had an env2 and it just started going crazy it would call ppl when she was trying to txt and sometimes the buttons would be mixed up and would type something really wierd..another one of my friends also has one and had to get a new one cause it wouldnt recieve messages and the buttons on the front stopped working..
i have hjad the phone since last christymas, and i have had no prtoblems at all, nbo buttons breaking, no screen frezing =) so there is no problems with it. it is charging fine. lasts 7 hours so im very happy with the envy2
I want to know why my EnV2 won’t charge. I’ve had it since September. At first it was working great. Everything is fine except it won’t charge. I know it’s not the charger or the outlet. What should I do?
Everything was going perfectly fine with my phone, nothing bad at all. I would even shower with it in the bathroom as it played my music with steam everywhere around it. Until recently I left it dead for about a week and now it only works when it is plugged into my charger. As soon as I unplug it, it turns off! I would wanna fix it now cause I have been using Metro PCS and my Verizon contract is finished. Does anyone know what I can do without consulting Verizon?
I have the EnV and I love it!!… as the EnV2 my friend had it and it snapped in half… so that shows me that its very cheaply made… plus way too many people have this phone and I want something not many people have… and the front of the phone is really ugly

first of all, on the internet, you cannot watch youtube videos, unlike the lg dare. second of all AIM, YAHOO, AND MSN MESSENGER DOSNT WORK. majjor issue for an i.m. er like me. i cant even go to that screen. and custuomer service kept me on the phone for an hour AND THEY DIDNT HELP ONE BIT. the screen just freezes nd the phone effin restarts!

I have the two step lock on but it still happens. It comes and goes and can get irritating when trying to text friends. I havent bothered going into verizon to get it cleared but might if it happens too frequently. Overall it is a great phone and has PHENOMENAL service wherever i go with verizons great service. When i had sprint i very rarely had any service. I highly recomend verizon and the EnV

I got the phone in november and i loved it! but now it sux because the buttons on the front of the screen isnt working. i think we should get a replacement phone from verizon because of it. and also the silver coating around the front has peeled off because i’ve opened and closed it so many times.The camera sux, i can’t zoom in at all. the front screen is way to small, and the front looks like a calculator. and the part holding the phone together on the keyboard, like snapped. so i couldnt open up mi phone. and of course u can’t delete ur inbox from the front of the phone. so i had to get another one. and when its in mi pocket, it will randomely call people. and i went over the minutes on my phone because of that.
I didn’t like that it doesn’t have right and left buttons on the front of the phone. It is a lot harder to txt on. I prefer to not get this phone inless you want to brake it.

i’ve had the env2 since xmas,and it worked fine, my friends would always tell me how their env2 buttons would stop working and the screens wouldnt work. and i had no problems like that until today! my SEND, 7, 8, 9 button will not work. i got it working bu then it just completely stoppped.! :( ive tried taking out the battery and everything! oh and also my zoom for my camera doesnt work.!!
yep, my ok button stopped working after I had the phone for about a month. yesterday, it stopped charging, so I have to hold it in a weird position.. which also happened to my old en v and my samsung glyde, which is way more expensive than the en v and I had to downgrade to the en v. so, i went to verizon to get a new phone and they didn’t have any in stock…yet they have it for sale in the store. we called 3 different stores and none of them had it in stock. i have to go on vacation for 2 weeks on saturday and theyre supposed to send me my phone by tomorrow, so if it does not arrive, I will be one pissed bitch!
[Comment ID #70318 Will Be Quoted Here]I HATE THE LG ENV2! i got it in october of 2008 and it was awesome! then the OK button and the “0″ button stopped working. completely. so..i took it to the verizon store to figure out if something happened to it. they said it was the software. so they upgraded my software and said that should work (idk how that would help but anyways) so i walk out of the store and start looking through my fone to see if anything changed and the OK button STLLLL didnt work! so i went in and told them. then they just gave me a new fone. now, with the fone they gave me im having the same problems! at first i could just hold down the OK button for a few seconds and then it would work, but now it dont work watsoeverr!! and its rele annoying because if you wanna just type a quick message on the front, you cant. then you have to open up the fone and make it more than it rele is. I CAN TELL YOU ONE THING….WELL 2 ACTUALLY 1.) I AM NEVERRRRRR GETTING THIS FONE AGAIN AND 2.) IF YOU WANT TO GET THIS FONE, DO NOTTTTT GETTTT ITTT!! IT SUCKS!

I have had the Env2 for about 5 months now, it is great, all these whiny people that are complaining about their phone not working anymore are just mad because they can’t stop dropping their phone. i have NEVER dropped mine and it still works like the day i got it, sure the front screen is skeet but the rest of the phone makes up for that.
I upgraded to the env2 and after 1 week the phone goes dead when im in the middle of texting. And the alarm did not work this morning! cute phone but after seeing all the messages i think im taking a trip back to the verizon store!
this phone literaly SUCKS. it just dies. charger always breaks. its does weird things. ive had 15 of them in 5 months. IT SUCKS
I have this phone since Christmas, and it was working fine until all of a sudden the OK button on the front stopped working and so did some of the other buttons. They work again every once in a while, but then they stop for months at a time. To aswer calls I have to open the phone and use the speaker phone, then close it. It’s such a pain in the butt, and I just want it to be fixed! My sister has the same phone and her buttons work fine. I really hate it.
I called Verizon a week ago to find out what was wrong with my phone, and the extremely nice woman in customer service told me that she’s had a lot of calls about the phone breaking since the Env3 came out. Really tricky, LG. My buttons worked great until about 2 weeks ago, and now I can’t use the front at all. Fortunately, I can get another with insurance, and I have no problem doing that because I like the phone, but I’ve been careful with the phone and never got liquids in it or dropped it, so I know this problem isn’t my fault.

The buttons dont work it shuts down on me ALL time its so stupid. Do not get this phone. If i brake it will they send me the ENV3?
This phone sucks. I’ve had it a little over a month, maybe one minor drop nothing else. Just today the screen on the outside turned white and the inside screen is black. With today’s technology, we should be able to make a freakin phone that lasts more than 30 days. pathetic. get it together verizon.
Concerning the keygaurd for the vx9100 a.k.a Keybo. I have the canadian version through Telus Mobility. I do agree that the keyguard settings are very weak as it only takes to pushes of the OK button to deactivate it. However in the settiings -> phone settings -> security menu there is an option for locking the phone on startup. If you set this you cannot do anything without entering the 4-digit security code (usually it by default it is the last 4 digits of you phone number) I also activatted the keyguard to be active after 7 seconds.
Having your phone locked does not stop you from answering it when it rings.
When finished simply press and hold the # key for about 2 seconds and the phone will lock again.
Until there is a software update this is a pretty good solution
I forgot to add that after pressing the # key you must reenter the 4 digit lock code
well if ur thinking about getting this phone dont its really nice for texting but it brakes to easily for no reason my first one would restart everytime a pushed anybutton then a day later it died alltogether my second one which i have now sucks because my inside screen doesnt work does anyknow how to delete your inbox by only using the out side of your enV2??? i thought about getting it replaced but my parents miht be mad about having to get me another one :/…:)
I have my LG enV2 for less than a year and some problems already show.
Problem1: my ok button on the external side sometimes doesnt work
Problem2: this is my biggest problem, i cant see ANYTHING in internal screen. Its all black nothing shows up. I opened it and it was fine but when i opened it again nothing showed. Havent dropped it much and when i drop it its usually on carpet. I hav had my phone for like 10 months
I have had this phone for a couple of months.I have treated this phone very delicately. It is never put in a moist environment like the kitchen or bathroom and has never been dropped. Just want to let you know that this phone doesn’t need to be mistreated to malfunction. It randomly powers down. I have 4 lines on my plan. 2 phones being used are enV3s the other 2 are enV2s. All are doing this!!! The enV3s started doing it first. These phones are in the hands of youngsters so i figured it was from mistreatment. Now both enV2s are doing it. My phone gets frequent use but never mistreated. The other enV2 is seldom used and also never mistreated. *228 does nothing to fix this problem so dont fall for tech support saying this may help. It won’t!!! Neither does taking the battery out to cold boot the phone!!! Have discussed this matter with 5 other people. All are experiencing the same problem. It is random. May not happen for days and then happen several times in one day. May not be a problem if you don’t ever expect important or emergency calls but I did today and I missed an employment opportunity! I think I will just report this to the Attorney General and not go through all the trouble of replacing it numerous times only to receive another and another that, without a doubt will develop the same problem.
Does anyone know were I could get help?

This phone sucks. It randomly dials all the time and it’s cheaply made. I’ve had 2 in 2 weeks. DO NOT GET IT. it’s not worth your money.
Come on people, stop putting your phones in your pockets. Use a case, it will significantly prolong the life of your phone. I have had certain phones for years and had them in cases and never had any problems with them. Even though a lot of people were complaining about having to replace them within a few months. Look putting your phone in your pocket is only asking for trouble. Get some kind of case for your phone and DO NOT swing your phone around, or put in the situation of a possibility of being dropped. If you want a phone that is nearly bulletproof, and won’t die after being abused, get a phone made for that. There are a few phones that Verizon sells that are extremely durable. They don’t have qwerty keyboards, but won’t die on you.
To a certain extent I agree, you should be cautious and treat your phone carefully. But then again a phone should be fairly rugged enough to handle slight wear and tear. Placing it in your pocket should NOT be an issue. Placing it in your pocket is very different than dropping it. I had the LG enV for two years, it made it though a few drops just fine!
lets face it this phone is the Down syndrome of Cell phones.

I love it too! I bought a new battery instead of using my ‘new every 2′. I refuse the pay for a data plan that I won’t use, and the only phones you can get without one are crap.
What? I love this phone! Apart from the fact that you have to connect this phone to your computer using a usb cable, this phone has many great qualities. QWERTY keyboard, easy to use menus, and absolutely spectacular sound quality via inner speakers. Plus the fact that it’s built surprisingly well and doesn’t seem like it will fall apart if you drop it from too high like the older Sidekicks. That doesn’t include the fact that since the outer screen is so small, it won’t scratch as easily as a larger outer screen. I am definitely happy with my new phone and I hope to someday get the LG enV2.

I have this phone. I give it a 2.5 out of 5 stars.
Problems:
1. I can be texting my friends and my phone just turns black and I have to turn it on. Thats been happening to me about 2-3 times a day.
2. The external screen is too small.
3. There is no different font styles unlike other cell phones.
4. The OK button on extertal does not work very well. I have to push it about 10+ times to make it work.
5. There is up and down buttons on external but no left and right which makes it hard to go back to your place in a text message.
6. If you’re like me and you send your pictures to your email, it takes FOREVER!
7. In contacts, you can’t put notes or addresses.
Good things about this phone:
1. Large buttons on external; easy to dial.
2. Overall internal is good.
3. Easy buttons to text on.
4. Able to access Music, Pictues, Calls, Video, Games, Web, etc.
i hated the camera on the env2. it pissed me off to no end. you couldnt focus it even if you wanted to.
sure, it was faster at taking pictures than the first env, but you could turn the auto-focus off on the old env if you wanted pictures. It also had this exposed little lens that would get dirty or scratched. The combination made all of my new pictures milky and foggy looking compared to the old pictures on my micro SD card from my previous env. I mean, i got over the fact that the camera sucked huge balls compared to the old one, but then all the silver… coating.. stuff on the outside flaked off and left a black ring with little silver flecks still stuck on it all around the phone. I had to go out and buy a phone cover it was so ugly.
I only had it for about 6 months too.
it got stolen though, right before the 1 year point. yeah… Now it looks like im gonna have to re-activate my old env. (thankfully i kept it!)
now im wondering if the env THREE sucks any more balls then the second one did?

I love my phone but recently it just turns itself off. Any idea why this happens. It is fully charged.
I noticed my phone has that problem when I flip it completely open. I had to open it only partially until I bought a new one.
I upgraded not to long ago from an old razer to the lg ev2. Now I’ve had the phone closing in on 6 months and its been awesome. haven’t had any trouble with the buttons or shutting off or anything. Have been waiting for something to happen but thus far its been an awesome phone for me. Sits in my pocket bouncing around against countertops and such all day. Nothing has peeled off or anything. I’m tough on my phone so I’m happy this one has not been problematic.
My EnV2 interior screen is cracked so now I can’t see anything, I can’t upgrade yet since I just got the phone in March 08. Can anyone tell me step by step what buttons to push on the interior so that I can forward text messages to my email address?? and if it’s not too much…also what to push step by step to forward my pics to my email, before my phone completely goes boom! this phone is terrible. the silver outline is peeling, somethings out of nowhere it says connecting message retreival cant be received when i didnt even tell it to do anything. when i press the button once it goes farther than i wanted it to. i cant receive or send pictures or videos. and now it wont even turn on or charge. it doesnt even respond. this is the second time its happened but now my warrentys over and i cant pay for it because my parents said no. fuck verizon.
My phone wont receive calls and the voice command comes on every minute. It boots you out of whatever you in… Why is that? how can that be fixed? HELP ANYONE !!!!!
I’ve had my EnV2 for a 1.5 years. I’ve been having problems with it for the past year. The Ok and 0 buttons on the front do not work. The phone shuts off all the time. I’ll pick it up after it’s sitting for a while and it will be off or I will be in the middle of a call or text and it will shut off. I’m bringing it to the Verizon store since there is now an extended warranty on it because of so many problems. The verizon customer service rep said if they check the battery and it is ok, I can send it in for a new phone. Luckily I just have to make it until August to upgrade. Never had so many problems with a phone!

I have had the EnV2 for almost a year and a half. It was a GREAT phone up until about a week ago. First, the 789 buttons stopped working, then it fell off one of it’s hinges, now the screen is white and won’t show any pictures what so ever. does anyone know if i can get it replaced?

I’ve had the env2 for almost 1 1/2 years…and I love it! My brother had the Dare and hated it. He returned it because the touch screen was too sensitive.
I’ve had two of these phones. The first one Freaked out on me and the screen started going staticky and then the internal screen quit showing any sort of display completely. Then the phone’s speakers stopped working. I got a Refurbished one and the female charger port became loose. I am very frustrated. the Phone will not charge AT ALL.

Yes, this phone I have here is all good and everything but here the other day the inside screen just completely went out and never came back on. So I just need to know what I can do to fix and resolve this problem and get it back going again but the outside screen is good just the inside screen is out all the way thanks.

I’ve had this phone for 2 years. The only problem I have is that it now throws out an extra letter every 10 words or so when I am texting. Very annoying, as I have to go back and correct.
Additionally, I was taking a leak the other day and checking my phone at the same time. Yeah, you know what happened…it stopped working after taking the plunge. Stuck it on a heater vent overnight and then plugged in the charger. It worked! 2 weeks later, it acts as if nothing happened. Lol!!!
