Sprint Reveals The LG Rumor 94
Yesterday LG Electronics announced the availability of their new phone titled “Rumor” for Sprint customers. The LG Rumor sports a full QWERTY keyboard, email access, and instant messaging services (AIM, MSN, & Yahoo!). The phone also boasts access to social news websites such as Facebook. The unit is available in white with silver or black with blue.
“We are excited to introduce Rumor by LG because it is great-looking, easy-to-use and very affordable,” said Danny Bowman, Sprint VP of Product Development
The LG Rumor will also support Sprint’s new messaging services which allows sending texts to landlines phones. (recipient hears the text in audio) Other neat features include a built-in fully functioning GPS navigation system with on screen turn-by-turn directions. As for now standard features it includes a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, microSD (4GB), MP3 player, and access to Sprint’s music store.
The Rumor by LG will be available later this month for $79.99 after a 2-year-contract and a $50 mail-in rebate. It’s going to be interesting to see how this stands up to LG’s enV which we reviewed last year. LG is also releasing an iPhone competitor, the Voyager, which is being launched on Verizon’s network and will be easily over double the price of the Rumor. We’ll try to get a hold of one of these so check back!

Well I got this phone yesterdayand it rocks. I love the fact it is simple and nice looking to boot. I also love the fact it does not have the bells and whistles t others have, it does what a phone is suppose to do. I love it. I was a avid flip phome person and I was a little leary about getting the rumor and now I am glad, like I said it rocks. The only thing I do not like and it is very basic, is that I can not put a strap on it and that I can not find a decent case for it, other than that it is a great phone. IT ROCKS.
Glad you like it. I feel it was a pretty good move for sprint to launch this phone since its got a full QWERTY for people who like to text, it is very affordable, and to top that it’s pretty simple. As long as it isn’t buggy and does what it claims to do (easily), it will probably sell quite well.
this phone has AIM correct? If so can you hold your entire buddy list or just 30 of them. I know this is a stupid question but I would just like to find this out. Thanks
I believe it uses the standard JME application which you download from the Sprint store. (which is usually limited to 30 contacts) But I don’t know if they implemented a new application specifically for this phone. It is possible that they may have changed it since its oriented to be a chatting phone.

yeah… this phone basically rocks! i am using it right now. i love that u dont have to buy AIM i love that u dont have to pay 25 dollars for internet and i love its not a flip phone.. i broke my razor and i got this one and its much better its pretty amazing

The store you went to might have been out of stock, you can always order your phone through http://www.Sprint.com or over the phone. They DO have both the black/blue phone and the silver/white!
I have this phone for a little over a month now and I still think this phone rocks. Reception is much better than ever. It is so easy to use. This is the best phone I ever had. It is smaller and lighter than any other qwerty phone I have seen. This is just a great phone. Again the only thing is I can not find a decent case for it. I found something but it is not what I really want, I will use until I find something. I am not a flip phone lover anymore. I love this. Buy it. With Sprint you have 30 days to change your mind and you will not. It rocks.

do you know what the orange button is that has a – sign on it?!?!?!?!?
yah i have this phone its quite amazing and so easy to use, the orange button is sorta like the shift button on a regular keyboard, it allows you to use the smaller symbol located on the key as well.
omg i am gonna get this fone soon, after i heard the comments it got me soo excited… now that my dad heard these, he is glad i am getting it tooo

I got this phone about a month ago from my boyfriend for my birthday. I actually got the teal colored one through alltel and I really enjoy this phone. The calls through the phone are super nice and very clear which was a change from most phones I’ve had. The chat style texting has to be my favorite feature on this phone. This phone altogether is an awesome phone, and I definitely recommend it.

Oh my gosh, from all the GREAT reviews that I heard about this phone I CANNOT wait to get the phone. I ordered it today at the local Sprint shop and it’s going to be green!!!! Can’t wait! Very excited!!!! I love texting and I can’t wait to go on AIM!!!
okay…well i have this phone and i got it a month ago i think but it’s like i pull out the keyboard and its fine but then i shut it and the screen goes ALL WHITE and i can’t see or read or do anything!!! help??!!!
I recently got the black/blue one, it rocks! I have also had the problem with finding a decent case, there’s only two diffrent colors available. There’s also bright green colors available but they don’t look so great. Also the Orange button is like a shift button but it allows you to type symbols, making it a lot easier then pressing one a million times to get to the symbol you want! I love this phone so much! I checked my bill and I realized I used 4,372 text messages, and the month isn’t over! The whole IM/E-mail thing is awesome to! Overall: PHONE ROCKS!!!
Edit: Sorry for commenting twice but, your phone shouldn’t do that, take it to a sprint store and they’ll either give you a refurbished one or fix it.

Hey i was just wondering, Im a big texting addict!lol and i take lots of pics!! I know with some cameras on the cell’s you can take the sound off teh cam so it doesnt have the shutter noise or say cheese, Can you shut the sound off for the rumour?? Like so when you take a pic it doesnt make a noise???

I have the white phone and i love it. I just wish the screen was a little bit bigger, and that you cant send pictures that are sent to you but other than that its a great phone. yea and it has a IM, e-mail, and Facebook setting when you go to messaging. So COOL!

I just got the black/blue one. it’s amazing, i love the fact that you can remove the little memory card, it’s the perfect phone. i love it.

My friend got this phone a couple of months ago and he had been bragging about how great it was. He never had any issues or glitches. However just a month or so ago he slid the phone open and the screen just died all of a sudden. No physical damage what-so-ever. I’ll ask him to post his story.

To take the cheese noise off, go to your camera and go to options, then go to sound and go to OFF. and as for the sliding sound, go to settings, sound, slide sound and then OFF.

Yeah…they have the LG Rumor for Attell also, but it’s called the scoop. It’s the exact same fone, and LG just changed the name because,,,idk…Well I have the Rumor and my friend has the Scoop and there is absolutely no difference, but the Scoop has more colors. I am going to get the Samsung Propel from At&t…It is AMAZiiNG!

I had this phone and have had many problems.. I would not recommend. I have insurance on it, and I have had 4 replacements and they all have huge problems. All have turned off and on random times during the day, eventually it just wont turn on. Keys dont work, slider doesn’t work. It’s just not a very good phone. I am very dissapointed I paid the full price for this phone with all the problems it has. For the last 2 months i’ve been using my Fusic while i wait until April when I can get a new phone! Horrible phone quality and repairs.

I am getting the LG Rumor with a prepaid plan with iwireless which is a Kroger connection. Go to iwirelesshome.com to check it out. I pay $40.00 a month and I get 200 anytime minutes, free nights and weekends, and free texting. Check it out if you don’t want to go with Sprint.

this cell is a wonderful cell. i abosolutly love it with a passion it has every you want. i have a question though how do you delete recipets address because whenever i text it save in the recipets address list and when i delete it it is still there but i don’t want it there. DOES SOMEONE KNOW HOW TO DELETE OR TAKE IT OFF i now it holds 25 i just got the phone and im trying to get 3 address of like the numbers and names
