Royale Theme For XP 116
Tried of the boring old Windows XP theme? Want something new? You can now make any Windows XP Home or Pro machine look like the Windows Media Center Edition’s glossy theme. (called “Royale”) Microsoft has created a small shell file extension. The download and installation files are only about 2mb. The theme may take up slightly more memory than the standard XP theme, but is probably un-noticeable.
To install, download the .exe provided below and when it asks you where to install the files make sure “C:\WINDOWS” is selected. If you choose “C:\WINDOWS” the files will automatically be placed in the “Resources” Folder in you computer. To activate the theme just right-click on you desktop -> Properties -> Appearance -> Windows and Buttons -> select [Media Center Style]. Hit apply and wait a momment it to fully load.

why zune theem does not work with xp sp1
You will feel like a gentleman and a scholar after installing this. And to think I was about to Format my harddrive just to install WinXP Media Center Edition for this..
i have the blaack glossy skin but this blue looks totally awesome, its way better than that boring macintosh skin

This is awesome!!! My friend has the new comp. that already had this so I went on a bunch of sites trying to find it for my XP each site it said download and it didn’t work. And then when I downloaded this I’m like wow just another lie. I looked everywhere for the theme. Then I’m like duh the display settings. Sweet theme though.

Wow, i was getting tired of the old Blue skin and thank god I found this one.
I was wondering, is there a Vista theme for XP? Because I really don’t want to install StarDock into my computer, not after last time, so if someone could point me in the right direction, that would be nice.

Wow! I’ve been looking for this since forever!! I just came from a forum that complained about XP’s 3 default color themes for 8 full pages and the complaining spanned over a 2 year period! all that was suggested over there were $$programs. Thanks so much for sharing this!!! You’re the best!

Make you sure you followed the directions as stated. If you have installed it properly, all you need to do is go to the theme settings to change the skin to the new style. Also was the standard XP theme working properly on your machine before you installed this one?
Well…i’m not able to change my desktop backround right now,but othere than that,it’s fine.
Now when i try installing it,it says this:
C:/Documents and Setting/Zahid/Desktop/RoyaleThemeForXP.exe is not a valid Win32 application
…why is this?
zahid: do you have XP?? this is for XP. Just dble click on the file, click RUN, & make the path c:\windows. Then right click on desktop, choose “appearance” tab, then choose “royal” or “Royal Noir” (the black one)

zahid: I googled your error & there were like a ton of different reasons listed on various forums –I feel bad for you getting that error. but maybe you can try going from the START button –> RUN and then Browse for the file on your desktop? Sorry for not coming up with anything more specific. good luck

Try downloading the file again. Save it to your “My Documents”. Once downloaded, go to My Documents and click on the program. If it still doesn’t run, you might have a different edition of Windows XP such as a 64bit version which may not be compatible OR you do not have privileges to install this since you may not be the administrator of this machine.
Well Sahas,i am not the administrator of my machine although,my Windows XP version is 24-bit.Anyway,ill try install it from My Documents,Thanks.

I don’t think that was possible, however it is possible that your previous theme files may have been corrupted causing them to run slower. But anyways glad that the theme is working out! :)

Royale= Beautiful
Royale Noir= Too dark and unfinished
Zune= Also too dark and a full of annoying orange -_-
Therefore…Royale is the choice to go for!

Can someone help me? I downloaded this and every time i go to properties> appearance> and the Windows and Buttons scroll box it only has the 2 choices, Windows XP and Windows Classic. can anyone tell me what to do?
you have to extract the .RAR file to C:Windows -> Resources -> Themes
Then when u doubleclick the luna file it will auto-add in properties u’ll just have to choose the color scheme u want :)
but i suggest the royale noir ;)
