iPod Icon Mod - November 4, 2005
Tired of looking at the same boring icons? Well, here’s a little trick that will replace the HD image that appears when your iPod is plugged in with an image of an iPod! I have already created one sample for you convince and it will look exactly like the image at the top. All you need to do is download the .zip file provided below and extract the contents (as is) into the root directory of your iPod. After doing so, disconnect and reconnect your iPod and the HD icon should have been replaced with an icon of an iPod.
If you would like to use another icon you have, just delete the icon.ico file you find in the root directory of your iPod and then rename the icon to “icon.ico”. (it will only display the new icon after disconnecting and reconnecting the unit). I had created a “PSP Icon Mod” a few months ago and that works the exact same way with your PSP once you place the two files into the root folder of the PSP’s Memory Stick.
