You can get Google to update your feeds by either pinging them:
http://blogsearch.google.com/ping/RPC2
or manually doing it from here:

Wow, thanks for getting back to me... You're awesome.
I noticed that if I manually added the feed then it does not happen. Are you aware of any reading on google that will give me more info about google caching or how long it will take to get the new feed?
Thanks again,
John

[Comment ID #7606 Will Be Quoted Here]
Hey John, this is not your fault. The reason is because Google Reader doesn't fetch the feed each time someone clicks on it. It will only fetch it once, but will not re-check until for a certain time period. This has been created so that it will not cost webmasters system resources or bandwidth. If you wait for about a day or add a new item to the feed it should update the entire thing.

I seem to have an issue with the add to google buttons, there are three items in my xml feed page, one of those three feeds had a spelling error, I have since corrected it, but now, when I click add to google it adds 4 items, the incorrectly spelled item which is no longer in my XML file..any ideas.. ?

google just posted how to create a button to the page that asks you which site to use today. here is the link <a HREF="http://www.google.com/intl/zh-cn/webmasters/addfeed.html" rel="nofollow">http://www.google.com/intl/zh-cn/webmasters/addfeed.html</a> it generates the code for you so it may be easier. i still could not find a page that shows you how to add it to google reader like you show and i still like your icon better
