The comments on this post have now been offically closed. PSP Firmware v2.60 and v2.70 have now been released, please refer to those posts for more information regarding firmware versions. As of 04/26/06 there have been no downgraders that allow downgrading PSP of any firmware other than the 2.0->1.5 combo. However, homebrew does work on PSPs v1.5 & v2.0-2.6. Search our site for more information.

What is the safest/best method to downgrade my psp, which I bought from Hong Kong from version 2.6 to version 1.5 and freely allows me to do all the kool things with it?

I’ve got a white v2.01, should I upgrade to v2.6 and buy GTA UMD and download an E-Loader and then Could I play downloaded games like NFS and Fifa 2006 ?

Hello girlies - I agree with what he said - I also agree with using the bitsoup site on the psp section - excellent site for downloads (Particularly if you pay as i do) They have all the homebrew , downgrader shite there - I also have a 2.5 vers and was stupid to buy it because i too want to downgrade unless I can use that GTA shit he mentioned in the post earlier. Guys be patient and just stop asking the same questions over and over. Either be patient and wait till somebody cracks 2.6 properly, or go buy GTA. I’ve been running homebrew through GTA for ages with hardly any problems. Instead of complaining in here, keep an eye out for the news sections in sites like psp-hacks.com. That is my preferred site, and will be one of the first to find out about new hacks that are floating around. If you can’t find it there, then it’s probably not possible.

help please anyone if you can downgrade a psp version 2.6 to a 1.5 or if you can play homebrew games on a 2.6 WITHOUT GTA!!! help anyone? i got videos pics and music on my psp but i cant get any games =( sucks any info would be great!!!! i know this has been posted over and over but i need to play them!!!! otherwise my psp is useless because i dont have money to buy them grr im pissed. oh well … wahh =’(. if it isnt possible to play them on my 2.6 will any hacker please help to create a program or game to do this!?!?!!?!?!! thanks

what happens if u try to downgrade your psp version 2.01 to 2.6 dose it break it or dose it just not work? any info would b gr8.

This downgrade thing is clearly a major problem. Apparantly, its the flash that’s causing trouble when it comes to downgraders. But hopefully, and most likely, there is someone out there who will manage to do it. Until then, I suppose homebrew WILL have to do.

i have just bought a psp v2.6 , i can get games and movies etc from a local market to put on a pc then transfer to my psp. i know i need a 1gb memory card at least to do this, but ive also been told my psp needs to be a v1.5, is this true? please help

it’s taking a f**king long time for a 2.5/2.6 downgrade, the firmware 2.5 was allready on it when i bought my psp. i thought that i could play downloaded games on my psp bud wat was i thinking. Just bad luk!!! and for all you out there who has the same problem. the only thing there is right now, for playing games on f.w v2.5/2.6 is homebrew you can download it at this address *********** maybe it will work for you
