Multiplayer PSP Hack Video - August 22, 2005
In April 2005, I wrote the “PSP Multiplayer With One Game” article. It was an extreme hit, which drew over 30,000 views. The article simple explained the step-by-step procedure to play a multiplayer game on a PSP when only one copy of the game is available. (link provided below) Recently, many have claimed that the procedure written is no longer applicable to firmware v1.52., and that players can no longer see eachother in the game. This isn’t true it’s still possible and this video will demonstrate it. To make this easier for everyone I have created a 3-minute long video which goes through the process. The video demonstrates how to perform this “hack” with Twisted Metal. Please feel free to download this video and spread it as you would like. A summarized procedure is at the bottom of this post.

Step-By-Step Procedure: (Twisted Metal w/ 2 PSPs)
1) Startup both PSPs and place the game into PSP #1.
2) Start an Ad Hoc game, create a server, and choose your settings.
3) Set time limit to unlimited (recommended), only because it takes a while to load the game in to PSPs since we only have 1 copy of the game.
4) Choose your car, but don’t start the game.
5) Remove the UMD & say no to quitting game.
6) Start the game in PSP #2 and go to multiplayer.
7) Enter the Ad Hoc mode and enter the server created by PSP #1.
8) Choose your car, but don’t start the game.
9) Remove the UMD & say not 2 exit game.
10) Place it back into PSP #1 and enter game
11) Once loaded take it out & and say no 2 quitting.
12) Put it back into PSP #2 and enter the game.
13) You should now be able to play eachother.

doesn’t work for crash tag team racing, it just says ‘disc error please insert disc etc.’

GTA loads audio tracks for background music constantly from the disc so thats why it will keep crashing. So one way to get past that is to switch all playing tracks to tracks stored on your PSP’s memory stick, then it should work! To do this download the Custom Track Loader here: http://tinyurl.com/dzopj just put some random CD in and copy a few songs and ask your PSP to play it!

(gt:lcs) when i put the songs on my memery stick and start a game and do all that jazz… it doesnt work
it says that it has a disk error so there must be somthing going on? the umd must have something that GTA requiers to play online, maybe you have to trick the psp into beliving it has the cd inside…like a game crack. get back to me if you can on my email :)

Well, If you go on the sony playstation website they will tell you that only a few games work …..Burnout Legends is one of them …. this is a made up way and could even reck up and brak your psp…..my psp broke and i had a loss of 210 Pounds ….. Luckily i managed to get into the psp and restart the system losing all the memory =( … its fixed now however

hay digetal puls dount upgrade your psp any more so you can add hacks,games trust me im waiting for the2.70 doungrade it will come out in another 2 years or so so im still waiting for a 2.70 doungrade!!!

can any one help how to play gta in multiplayer coz my my friend and i try to play it with seperate umd but we cant play bec. it didnt detect a server although i act as a server and nothing happened

well glenn your friend has to put it the grand theft auto were it says multiplayer. you put it in ad hoc mode in the psp and try to be close to each other so it well detect the person. oh! and you have to put it in wifi mode.

we try that but still doesn’t work…i dont know coz his unit was from japan and mine is from us…but we try to pass some pictures to check if our wlan are working and it works i dont know if that is the reason why we cant play multiplayer in gta…

does this method work for madden 06? and do u have list of that this would work for and is there another way to watch music videos on “MUSICJESUS.com” with my PSP and is there away for me and my homes to send text messages to each other while using our PSPs like nintendo DS and is there a program that i can download so i can watch Tv on my PSP-

if you are able to save the video then you should be able to convert it using http://www.pspvideo9.com or other programs. However the current browser won’t support doing so directly from the webpage. To chat between PSPs, which probably won’t be to efficent, you can use sites such as http://aimonpsp.com/ however you both will need to be connected to the internet. And the psp cant play tv just yet. sony may be releasing apsp tuner, but we dont know when.

It depends what game you are playing. It isn’t a PSP function, but rather varies from game to game. Twisted Metal, which we used, had that option under multilayer games. Other games might not have the same feature.

Hey, i was wondering if you can do the multiplayer hack with Madden 07??
Because i tried it and it works but when i try to go into the game the one w/o the game freezes on the menu that says “join game”..
Am i doing something wrong of does it not work on Madden.
